Steamer wreck at Maam Bridge

Behind the Island in Maam basin lie the remains of the old Maam pier and the wreck of a steamer which sank at her berth. It is very overgrown now, but can be found about 15ft out from the shore in approximately 6 ft of water. The steamer wreck has sunk down into the mud, but can still be seen 2 ft below the surface. Visibility is very bad for diving and photography due to the mud and silt.
